Where all ages of earnest seekers come to remember what they were never taught — and what our bodies have always known.
What is a Gossip Circle?
The word gossip once meant something sacred.
Before it was used to describe idle talk, a "gossip" was a godparent — a god-sibling — a trusted woman who gathered with other women during childbirth and rites of passage to witness, support, and pass on knowledge. The gossip circle was where women's wisdom lived.
We are reclaiming this word, gossip. An Elluna Gossip Circle is an intimate gathering where earnest seekers of all ages come together to learn the truth about their bodies — through the lens of the moon, the wisdom of their lineage, and honest, generous community.
No shame. No clinical distance. No outdated textbook explanations. Just people, in a circle, remembering together.
What to expect
🌕
The Teaching
A guided session covering the biology and hormones, history, and sacred meaning of the menstrual cycle — through the metaphor of the moon's phases. Honest, beautiful, and appropriate for all ages that are ready to learn about the female body's wisdom.
🌒
The Moon Wheel
A hands-on activity woven through the session. Each participant builds their own Moon Wheel — a personal artifact mapping the four phases to their own body and inner experience.

Common questions
Things people ask before showing up
An Elluna Gossip Circle is designed for ages 7 and up. For younger children, the session is visual and sensory — they work with colors, shapes, and symbols without needing to understand every detail. We believe that introducing this information early, with honesty and warmth, removes shame before it has a chance to settle. You know your child best — if they are curious about their body or approaching puberty, they are ready.
No. The session is taught with care for a mixed-age room. Biological content is presented factually and beautifully — not clinically or graphically. While we do discuss reproductive systems and their function within the body, sex and sexuality will not be discussed during this course. For female seekers looking for community space to discuss sexual topics with, we would love to get you on the waitlist for our Full Moon Camping trip!
Absolutely, yes! The session covers the full arc of the womb-bearing body — including menarche, the fertile years, and transition into menopause, which we frame as a power phase, not a loss. If you have ever had a cycle, or supported someone who does, or simply want to understand this knowledge, you belong here.
An Elluna Gossip Circle is not affiliated with any religion or spiritual tradition. The content is rooted in biology, history, and cultural knowledge. We draw on the moon as a metaphor and honor ancestral lineages — but we do not ask you to hold any particular belief. Participants from all backgrounds, including secular, religious, and spiritual perspectives, have felt at home in this space.
We do address how women's body knowledge was systematically suppressed over centuries — and we name the structures that caused that. We use the word "patriarchy" as a historical and sociological term, and we also explain it plainly for those unfamiliar with it. This is not a partisan political event. It is a conversation about history and reclamation. People across the political spectrum have found this framing meaningful.
This session can be moving. Some participants feel grief — for what they were never taught. Some feel anger. Many feel relief, wonder, and a sense of coming home to themselves. We hold space for all of it. No one is asked to share anything they don't want to. There is no pressure to perform any particular emotion. Come as you are.
An Elluna Gossip Circle runs approximately 2 hours. Ticket pricing is listed on the event page — we keep fees intentionally accessible and offer sliding scale when possible. If cost is a barrier for you or your family, please reach out directly at christianna@ellunagathering.org.
Yes. Partners, fathers, brothers, sons, friends, and anyone who loves or supports a womb-bearer are welcome. Understanding this knowledge makes everyone a better ally, caregiver, and companion. The more people carry this information, the less isolated the experience of having a cycle becomes. We do ask that our guests with XY chromosomes attend Elluna Gossip Circle as listeners instead of active participants.
